Do I need a smartphone for the badge to work?
No. PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Badges are unique in that you have many ways to identify the pet and owner. If the user doesn't have a smartphone they can browse the PatiTracker website on the badge via a tablet/computer and enter the alphanumeric number to see the details.
What is a QR Code and how do I scan it?
A QR (Quick Response) Code is a barcode code that is readable by portable devices. QR Codes have reliable readability and greater storage capacity than standard barcodes. The PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Badge QR Code provides a direct link to the owners Pet Profile. The scanning of the QR codes can be performed by any smartphone’s camera with a QR reader app installed in.
What is NFC? How does it work on the badge?
NFC is a mainstream wireless technology that enables short-range communication between compatible devices. The PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Badge works by storing bits of information in the badge. This information could be a phone number, house address or information about the pet such as a microchip number, illnesses or allergies. The information is recalled and displayed on the screen also by tapping the badge with an NFC enabled smartphone, in addition to the QR code system.
Do the badges only work in Turkey?
You can use the badges anywhere Internationally, not just in Turkey. Currently the PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Pet Portal is only available in Turkish & English. The aim is for the service to be multi-lingual in the future
Is this badge waterproof?
Yes, it is waterproof. However, we recommend that you rinse the badge with fresh water after it’s it has been exposed to sea water or any chemical.
Can I link more than one tag to the same pet’s profile?
Yes, you can. There is no limit to the number of PatiTracker Smart Pet ID products that you can link to your pet’s profile. Repeat the steps of registration to link more PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Badges to your pet’s profile.
Can I track my pet in real time?
No, you can’t. By choosing not to include active GPS tracking, and using scanning technology instead, we eliminated the need for batteries and charging, while still retaining the ability to deliver a detailed profile as well as to provide useful location information when it is needed most.
Do rescuers need an application to scan a lost pet’s badge?

How do I make profile fields visible when people scan the badge?
Tap on ‘badge’ on your pet’s profile page. The ‘badge Profile’ page will feature the details that can be shared when the PatiTracker Smart Pet ID Badge is retrieved. Tap on the check boxes on the right to select/unselect the details to share. You MUST tap on the “SAVE” button to save any changes made.
